This soup is very good made exactly as the recipe specifies. It is easy & dependable. I think it is even tastier made as clam or fish chowder with the following alterations: Add 1-2 cans of chopped clams, 1-2 cups of clam broth with the potatoes & 1 Tblsp of butter & 2 Tblsp minced fresh parsley near the end.
