This is a very simple recipe--both easy & quick to make. The results look much more professional & elaborate than the time & expertise required. As usual, James Beard provides detailed instructions and a dose of his opinionated advice to guide you through the process. Lots of optional variations allow scope to suit your taste and/or special occasion. My family like the whipped cream & strawberries filling best--with chocolate flavored whipped cream a close second.
